PROGRAMME

Due to the severe impact on the Hospitality Industry, well-known professional food service brands Marvello and Meadowland owned by Siqalo Foods have partnered with RCL FOODS, Your Food Partners and Bidfood to launch this exciting new programme.

Valued at a R2 million investment per year, the Sekela Hospitality support programme is a holistic, phased programme that will provide current black-owned hospitality businesses (restaurants, catering companies and accommodation businesses) with back of house training, business coaching, access to capital and business stimulus packages.

HOW CAN YOU BENEFIT?

The initiative will support current Black-owned hospitality businesses with back of house training, business coaching, access to capital and business stimulus packages that are necessary for business success.
PHASE 1

(Maximum 50 Beneficiaries)

• Purchase Discounts (Orders must include at
least 1 x Siqalo FOODS Product)
• Max 10% off your entire food basket
purchased via Bidfood (T&C’s apply)

PHASE 2

(Limited Number of Beneficiaries Need Based)

• Back Of House Training
• Business Coaching

• Financial Stimulus Packages
• Business Profiling (Publicity Campaign)

Qualifying Criteria - Draft Terms & Conditions**

 

1. The Initiative will focus on restaurants, catering companies and accommodation businesses.

2. Establishments must comprise a minimum of 10 tables service seating or operating as a Canteen or Catering for major events.

3. Qualifying Criteria evaluation form must be completed in full. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

4. Applicants must be Majority ACI owned: +51%.

5. The annual turnover of the qualifying entity was less than R10,000,000 (Ten Million Rand) in terms of the most recent audited financial statements or factual finding from an independent review, qualifying the entity as an Exempt Micro Enterprise (EME) and confirm that the company has a Black Shareholding (as defined per the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice) and definitions per the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act 53 of 2003 as Amended by Act No 46 of 2013

6. BEE Verification must be available on request.

7. Company Registration Document must be available on request.

8. The entity must me an Independent Outlet / Establishment i.e. Must not be part of a chain or franchise group.

9. The Business must be operating in major metropolitan municipalities, as directed by the Constitution, the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act, 1998 (Act 117 of 1998). The following are considered Major Metropoles:

Buffalo City (East London)

City of Cape Town

Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (East Rand)

City of eThekwini (Durban)

City of Johannesburg

Mangaung Municipality (Bloemfontein)

Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality (Port Elizabeth)

10. Discount Criteria:

  • The Sekela Hospitality Support Programme is a holistic phased programme. Phase 1 discounts will be offered for a period of up to 6 months, commencing 01 April 2021.
  • Discounts will be awarded to the first fifty (50) establishments who meet the Sekela Hospitality Support Programme application criteria.
  • Qualified Establishments will receive a minimum discount of 10% per month to a maximum value of R7500, on an entire food basket, purchased via Bidfood.
  • Food orders must be for a minimum of R10 000 per month and may be an accumulation of orders within the specific month.
  • Food baskets must include at least 1 x RCL FOODS Product and 1 x Siqalo Foods Product.

11. Purchases are for own consumption, not for resale and no syndicated purchases will be allowed.

12. Qualification will be subject to favourable credit rating. On completion of the Qualifying Criteria, you will also be authorising the Company’s duly authorized verification agent, to access my Personal Information and conduct background screening checks, including, but not limited to, CIPC Registration Verification, credit, supplier references, criminal record, fraud prevention, ID verification, and all social media accounts linked/associated/known to me of which I am a user/member of. (As detailed on the form)
Note: The Sekela Hospitality Support Programme reserves the right to review the qualifying criteria periodically, at their discretion.

13. Qualified applicants will be required to sign a POPI Consent.
